I’ve GOT to get my samples for Summer made, just thought I’d acquaint you all with the piece of machinery I shall be spending much of my time with for the next week or so. Plus it’s like 3 minutes past 5 on a Friday morning and I can’t sleep because I’ve got ideas buzzing around in my head again (Manic phase, bear with me).
I’ve got a lil white Empisal sewing machine that has been through some rough times with me. It’s gotta whole lot of Betty Boop and Hello Kitty stickers plastered all over it, courtesy of me.
It reminds me to stay happy and calm when I’m sewing and not cuss the sh*t outta it when the damn thing fucks out or something (Empisals are notorious for their tantrums).
Did you know that the first successful sewing machine was made in 1846 by an American dude, Elias Howe* …Shame!! They waited that long?? (I only googled that now, outta interest) …But hey, check me out procrastinating over here, posting pictures of sewing machines on my Tumblr when I should actually be using the damn thing*
I’m so ungrateful. I’ll put that baby to good use and post samples up soon*

This is what my headache feels like right now*
Sounds deadly to me… what do these 3 things have in common anyway?
2 things:
Razz (make-up artist and cupcake baker) and me, Zak (fashion designer of PRO*ZAK and food lover*)
I wanna do a beauty/fashion studio shoot with a model and a giant cupcake, stuffing her face and getting into that confectionery lil mofo! (putting on lipstick would probably be pointless). I wanna see icing dripping onto the PRO*ZAK gear shes wearing, crumbs falling down her cleavage and lots of finger-lickin-lip-smacking-goodness going on*
…And if you’re wondering what started all of this food-lustin’ …Razz and I have meaning to do a PRO*ZAK inspired beauty shoot for a while now, so we were catching up over the Book of Faces and she told me that she’s thinking of fusing fashion and confectionery… obviously I was like: HELLZ FUCKING YES… lets fuse cupcakes and make-up AND PRO*ZAK!!
…I envy the model who’s gonna eat that giant cupcake. I really do.
So you read my previous post about this June/July cover of Nylon Magazine that had me foaming at the mouth….
Well obviously, I HAD to know who the stylist was because, to me, her outfit just hit the nail on the head.
The half-Sri Lankan, half-Dutch stylist, Namalee Bolle has not only dressed the likes of M.I.A. but Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. as well. She started off as the fashion editor at Sleazenation magazine and since there, this lady has just been going for it.
Namalee for president??? …Imagine her being the brand ambassador for Diesel (or PRO*ZAK ;) In times where the words “less is more” is constantly being hammered into my brain, Namalee’s crazy-colour-pop-goes-the-weasel-disco-free-spirited-gold-with-a-ghetto-edge sorta style inspires me to create and introduces me to my love called fashion all over again.
This makes me even more amped for the photo shoot I’m doing on Sunday with Nicole Bredeveldt and Kayla Schoonraad. Gonna be photographing the PRO*ZAK Fall/Winter 2011 Collection.

Behind the scenes footage of PRO*ZAK’s Spring/Summer 2011 shoot. Friends of mine, Ameen & Nabeel Harron were kind enough to let me use their Seapoint apartment. Rizqua Barnes (Riz.B Photography) is the talented Cape Town-based photographer behind the lens and her brother and assistant, Yaaseen Barnes filmed us making fashion magic in Ameen and Nabeel’s kitchen, lank early on a Saturday morning.

I remember when PRO*ZAK was invited by DFS to showcase in their fashion show at Misael Art Gallery. Most of the blog reviews I read about the show said I’m influenced by M.I.A… “HELLS YES MOTHER F*****S!” …But… I like other things too :)
Creative People are crazy, we can be inspired by the texture of shampoo, thank the Universe for image diaries that come in the form of Tumblr.
By the way, I love legs*

Summer in Cape Town is drawing closer, can you feel the sun on your bare-legged skin?* …I had no idea that there were this many ways a woman’s legs could be photographed.
I love being a designer, I get to give women the opportunity to show off these beauts, and yes boys, you can thank me later*
Deathproof* I loved this shot of Jungle Julie, more than the shot of Butterfly’s ass when she was giving Stuntman Mike a lapdance
